1st Annual Apple Fest 2008
Thursday, September 25, 2008
Update....
Okay, so we have made another change for the 5k. Because of transportation issues, we would like ALL participants to be at Apple Creek Farms as close to 8:00 am as possible. This is where you will check-in and receive your number. Once you are registered and checked in, we will start shuttling you to the starting line. Or, if you can have someone drop you off at the starting line, this would help. There's really not a place for parking at the starting line.

The breakfast will start around 9:30. The charge for the breakfast will be $3.00 (12 and under FREE). For those participating in the 5k, the breakfast is included.
Apple pressing will begin at 11:00 am. Also, there will be an apple dipping bar, dried apple demonstrations, dutch oven apple crisp tasting and fun activities for the kids throughout the day. Not to mention hay wagon rides.
I've been checking the weather and it should be a clear, beautiful 80 degrees for most of the afternoon. If you are planning to stay for dinner and dancing, come prepared with some warm attire.
We look forward to seeing you in a few days.

.....Mark your calendars for the first annual
Have the kid's pictures taken or a picture of the whole family in a pumpkin patch setting. Proofs will be available through
kiRsTin rOpEr pHotOgraPhY website.
The Harvest 5k is a memorial walk/run for our sweet daughter, granddaughter, niece, angel and friend.....Kate Rosenvall. Kate was born with several birth defects and fought a valiant fight for 21 months. She was born on July 15, 2006 and received her angel wings on March 25, 2008. She spent over 7 months at Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT where we called this her "2nd home." Kate was loved by all who cared for her and we are so grateful for this wonderful facility. Spending so much time at the hospital, we realized just how much donations are needed and appreciated. All proceeds for the Harvest 5k will be donated to the Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation in Kate's name. Below is the information for the walk/run. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Please arrive at 8:30 am
If you have never experienced fresh apple cider pressed straight from an antique apple press.....this is something you don't want to miss. The only ingredients used are fresh apples picked straight from the Apple Creek Farm orchards.
Take a tour of the Apple Creek Farm on a hay wagon pulled by John Deere himself. This hay ride is to be enjoyed by those of all ages.
Dinner and Dancing
To end a fun-filled day on the farm, dinner will be served at 6:00 pm. Feast on a selection of hamburgers, hot dogs or BBQ chicken served with dutch oven potatoes, green salad, rolls and not to mention....yummy apple pie.
Following dinner, kick up your heels in the Apple Creek Barn to the live music of
Masons Jar of Jam and dance the night away to sounds of Nu Jazz, Country and Folk/Pop.
**Tickets for dinner and dancing can be purchased for:
$10.00 for adults
12 and under FREE
**We encourage you to register early for the dinner so we have an idea of how many to plan for. To download the registration form, click on "Dinner Registration" on the top right side of the blog. Or, registration forms can be picked up at Roper Lumber in Fillmore.**
